A GIFT WRAPPING SERVICE CAN HELP TO INCREASES SALES
Are you looking for ways to increase sales during these difficult times? Offering a high quality gift wrapping service could be the answer. Try some of my Top Tips and watch customers coming back time and again. Good luck!
Be well organised, perhaps with paper pre-cut for popular gifts or items pre-wrapped and labelled. Remember to take the price off and have a system indicating the contents if customers bring multiple gifts.
If you sell wrapping paper and ribbon, offer to wrap free of charge if customers buy the materials. Local retailers not offering the service will start to send their customers in your direction!
Offer a ‘free’ service for items over a certain value, perhaps using a counter roll. The cost could be included in the gift’s price. Add a unique finishing touch like my quick and easy Twist Bow which only costs a penny to make. A low cost way to create a high end look! Arona shows how to make this bow on her DVD Increased Sales All Wrapped Up and on her Bow Making course.
Offer customers the option to upgrade to a premium service for special gifts like wedding and baby presents. A bespoke handmade bow, made in advance, can significantly increase the perceived value of a gift.
Take ends of lines or slow moving stock and use them in gift baskets or give customers the option to select items that will then be wrapped in a hamper or gift basket.
Ensure the recipient of a gift becomes a customer by using printed ribbon, seals or boxes stamped with your company name. This also creates an exclusive upscale look, especially if the box is lined with tissue paper.
Promote the service through signage, advertising, promotional material, websites and, most importantly, well lit displays of wrapped gifts in-store and in the window.
Make sure you and your staff are well trained. (Arona runs training courses in Gift Wrapping, Bow Making, Creating Gift Baskets and Visual Merchandising.)
Keep ahead of the competition by promoting themed seasonal specials according to upcoming events and celebrations. This will keep your gift wrapping service fresh and unique.
And if you don't offer a gift wrapping service...

Above the giftwrap and ribbon racks have a display showing how to make a bow with assorted ribbons and what giftwrap is best for different shapes.
Display the DVD Arona Khan's Quick and Easy Guide to GREAT GIFT WRAPPING alongside so that customers can still ensure their gifts look too good to open!
